Vintage Japanese Musical Bulldog Toy (1950s)

RARE Vintage Battery Operated  "Musical Bulldog" by the Marusan Toy Company Japan in the 1950's. Tin plated base & piano with seated plush bulldog wearing fabric outfit. In addition to tin litho facial features, bulldog also smokes tin litho cigar (w/"AB" band) and has tin litho hands/feet.

This item is not currently operational but when in working condition, batteries are placed inside the top of the piano and switch is turned on, music plays, bulldog's arms move as if playing piano, head moves slightly, tip of cigar lights and smoke comes out of small tube in mouth.

Condition - Age related wear & tear, especially on bulldogs garments but still a great collector item!!

Size - Overall total height is 9".
